Cotton Candy Sugar Cookies

These soft and chewy melt-in-your-mouth cookies flavored with cotton candy extract. They look sweet as they taste with a swirl of cotton candy buttercream and pink, white and blue sprinkles.

Cotton Candy Sugar Cookies by Nour

Serving size:

  • About 14 cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar

  • 1 egg

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1/2 tsp cotton candy extract

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour

  • 1 1/2 tsp baking soda

  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

Step 1

  • Preheat oven to 350F (180C). Line a baking pan with parchment paper and set aside.

Step 2

  • Beat butter until it’s fluffy or turns an off-white colour (about 3 minutes).

Step 3

  • Add in brown sugar and granulated sugar and mix until fluffy (about 2 minutes).

Step 4

  • Add the egg, cotton candy extract and vanilla extract and mix well.

Step 5

  • Add the flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix until a soft dough forms.

Step 6

  • Use a 1,5 ounce cookie scoop. Bake for 13 minutes, or until the edges are slightly golden.

Step 7

  • After making the buttercream frosting, add it into a piping bag with a round opened tip and frost your cooled cookies. Lastly, add some pink and blue sprinkles.
