Nutella Banana Bread

This Nutella banana bread is so soft, fluffy, and moist, It’s swirled with ribbons of Nutella in every bite. It’s really the best way to use ripped bananas sitting out on your counter, and turn them into something unforgettable.

Ingredients For Nutella Banana Bread

  • Overripe bananas: When making banana bread always use well bananas. The more the banana is brown ripe the more flavors and sweeter it will be.

  • Melted Butter: Using melted butter will create a more soft and fluffy banana bread. Make sure the butter is melted and cooled before using.

  • Granulated Sugar: This recipe uses granulated sugar, but you can also use brown sugar if you’d like.

  • Greek Yogurt: Greek yogurt contains a lot more protein and less sugar. Using it will help rise the bread more and create a fluffy and tender bread.

  • Eggs

  • Vanilla Extract

  • All Purpose Flour

  • Baking soda

  • Salt

Note: (Keep in mind that naturally overripe bananas will have a sweeter and more intense flavor than all these substitutes), but not a huge difference in the banana bread itself.

The bananas are ripened when the texture of the banana becomes soft, mushy, and the color has deepened into a dark brown color. This is how you’ll be able to tell your bananas are done and ready to be used. Cool and peel the bananas before using.

  1. Microwave: Began by peeling the banana, and place on a microwave-safe plate. Set your microwave for 60 seconds and keep checking the progress, if banana is softened flip over. Continue to ripen your bananas in 30-seconds increments. Keep in mind the powder of every microwave is different, so the time might differ. Allow the bananas to fully cool, before using.

  2. Oven: Preheat oven to 300°F. On a baking pan, place foil, and layout bananas so that they aren’t touching. Place in the oven, If the bananas had some spots on them, check on them after 5 minutes. If they were mostly yellow check on them after 10 minutes. Once the bananas are a deep brown, flip over and bake them for an additional 5 minutes. When the bananas are ripen they can now be used. Allow the bananas to fully cool, before using.

  3. Air fryer: Preheat air fryer to 300°F. Place the bananas in the basket, and make sure they aren’t touching. Do Not Use Foil Or Parchment Paper. It can blow around and damage your air fryer. Set the air fryer for around 10 minutes. Allow the bananas to fully cool, before using.

All these ways work amazing to ripen your bananas. However, the best way is definitely the oven, as it produces the best results.

Of course! If you don’t want to make this banana bread with Nutella because you don’t like Nutella, don’t have it or whatever the reason may be, you can still make this moist and fluffy banana bread without it and it will still taste delicious.

How To Freeze Nutella Banana Bread?

To freeze Nutella banana bread and preserve its fresh flavor and texture. To freeze this banana bread.

  1. Cool baked banana bread completely.

  1. Tightly wrap it in plastic wrap a few times (2 to 3 layers), then in foil.

  2. Place the wrapped banana bread in an airtight container for up to 3 to 4 months.

When the banana bread is ready eat, let it sit out on your counter and thaw to room temperature.

Serving Size:

  • 1 loaf

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup butter, melted and cooled

  • 3 extremely ripe bananas

  • 1/3 cup greek yogurt

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 2/3 cups All-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/3 cup Nutella

Instructions

Step 1

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (177C) and line a 9x5 inch loaf pan with parchment paper. Set aside.

Step 2

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas, and melted butter, mixing until combined. Mix in the eggs, Greek yogurt and vanilla extract.

Step 3

  • Mix the flour, baking soda, and salt together. Fold the dry ingredients into the wet and mix until just combined. Do not over mix.

Step 4

  • Transfer half the batter in to your prepared loaf pan. Melt the Nutella in the microwave for 30 seconds. Drizzle half the Nutella in the center and gently use a butterknife to swirl it around to create swirls. Pour the rest of the batter on top, and repeat with remaining Nutella.

Step 5

  • Bake for 45 to 50 minutes, or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow banana bread to cool for 15 minutes before removing from pan. Enjoy!
