Red Velvet Cookies (Crumbl CopyCat)

These Red velvet cookies will not disappoint! These cookies are inspired by Crumbl’s red velvet cookies. They’re made with a soft and chewy cookie base with a velvety texture, then topped with the most smooth and rich cream cheese frosting to tie everything together!

Ingredients For Red Velvet Cookies

  • Unsalted Butter

  • Brown & Granulated Sugar

  • Eggs

  • Vanilla Extract

  • All Purpose Flour

  • Cocoa Powder

  • Baking soda

  • Salt

  • Red food dye

  • Cream cheese: This is gonna be used to make the delicious cream cheese frosting on top the cookies.

How To Make Red Velvet Cookies?

  1. Wet Ingredients: With a whisk, beat butter, and sugar together until fluffy. Next, add the red food coloring.

  2. Mix dry Ingredients together.

  3. Scooping: Use a 1,5 ounce cookie scoop

  4. Baking: Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the cookies have slightly puffed up but are still soft.

  5. Make the cream cheese frosting

How To Store Red Velvet Cookies?

These red velvet cookies should be stored in the fridge in an airtight container for up to7 days as they contain the frosting.

Serving size

  • Around 10 to 12 cookies

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup butter, room temperature

  • 1/3 cup brown sugar

  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 egg

  • 2 tsp vanilla

  • 2 tsp red food coloring

  • 1 3/4 cup All-purpose flour

  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder

  • 2 tsp espresso powder

  • 1/2 tsp baking soda

  • 1/2 tsp salt

Cream Cheese Frosting

  • 1 block of cream cheese (8 oz)

  • 1/4 cup butter

  • 1 to 2 tbsp heavy whipping cream

  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

  • Pinch of slat

Instructions

Step 1

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (177C). Line a baking pan with parchment paper and set aside.

Step 2

  • With a whisk, beat butter, brown sugar and granulated sugar together until fluffy and mixture turns an off-white color (about 2 minutes). Add the egg, vanilla extract and red food coloring and mix until a smooth consistency.

Step 3

  • Add the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt. Mix until a soft dough forms. Use a 1,5 ounce cookie scoop. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the center has slightly puffed up

Step 4

  • While the cookies bake, make the cream cheese frosting, mix the cream cheese and butter together with an electric hand mixer for about 3 to 5 minutes. Next add the powdered sugar, one cup at a time, mixing on low increasing the speed to high. Finally mix in the heavy cream and salt. Mix by hand for 2 minutes to get any air bubbles out.

Step 5

  • Let the cookies cool completely before frosting and decorating with cookie crumbs on top. Enjoy!
