Tie Dye Cookies

Serving Size:

  • Around 10 cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened

  • 1 1/4 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 egg

  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour

  • 1/2 tsp baking soda

  • 1/2 tsp baking powder

  • 1/2 tsp salt

Instructions

Step 1

  • Preheat oven to 350°. Line a baking pan with parchment paper and set aside.

Step 2

  • Beat butter until it’s fluffy or turns an off-white color (about 3 minutes).

Step 3

  • Add in granulated sugar and mix until fluffy (about 2 minutes).

Step 4

  • Add the egg and vanilla extract and mix well.

Step 5

  • Add the flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix until a soft dough forms. Divide the dough into 3 even portions (each portions of dough should weight out to be around 273 grams).

Step 6

  • Use about 1/4 tsp of different colors of food coloring to dye each dough piece, or until you achieve the color of your choice. Mix well to saturate the dough. (You might need to add more food coloring, depending on the brand of dye used).

Step 7

  • Use a 1 tbsp cookie scoop to scoop out of each colored dough. Squish all the colored dough together and roll into a ball to swirl the colors together. Bake for 11 minutes, or until the edges are slightly golden. Enjoy!
