Triple chocolate hug blossoms are a must holiday cookie. They’re fudgy, soft and chewy on the inside with the perfect little crisp on the outside, then topped with a Hershey’s hug kiss. They’re so easy to make and will be done in no time, waiting for you to dive in!

Ingredients For Triple Chocolate Blossoms

  • Unsalted Butter: Using unsalted butter allows you to fully control the amount of salt going into your cookies.

  • Brown & Granulated Sugar: This recipe uses a combination of both sugars to ensure a soft, chewy and crunchy cookies

  • Eggs: Eggs will bind your cookies together.

  • Vanilla Extract: Will give the cookies are depth of flavor.

  • All Purpose Flour: The all-purpose flour is perfect for these cookies, it creates a tender cookie.

  • Cocoa Powder: Dutch processed cocoa powder is the best to use to achieve a rich cookie, as well as balance out the sweetness of the cookies.

  • Espresso Powder: It helps deepen the chocolate flavor in the cookies.

  • Baking soda: It’s a leavening agent.

  • Salt: Any baked goods need salt. Salt is used to balance out the sweetness of any dessert.

  • Hershey Hugs Kisses: They will be pressed down the center of each cookie once the cookies are out of the oven.

How To Make Triple Chocolate Blossoms?

  • Whisk wet ingredients together until fluffy and the mixture turns an off-white color.

  • Mix the dry ingredients together.

  • Scooping, use a 1 tbsp cookie scoop

  • Baking, bake for 10 to 11 minutes, or until the center has slightly puffed up and cookies have spread.

  • Decorating, place the Hershey hugs kissed in the center of each cookie once they come out of the oven and have slightly cooled.

  • 2/3 cup butter, room temperature

  • 2/3 cup brown sugar

  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 egg

  • 2 tsp vanilla

  • 1 cup All-purpose flour

  • 3/4 cup Dutch processed cocoa powder

  • 1 tsp espresso powder

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • 1/4 tsp salt

Coating

  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar for coating the cookies (optional)

Topping

  • Hershey Hugs Kisses

Instructions

Step 1

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (177C). Line a baking pan with parchment paper and set aside.

Step 2

  • With a whisk, beat butter, brown sugar and granulated sugar together until fluffy and mixture turns an off-white color (about 2 minutes). Add the egg and vanilla extract and mix until a smooth consistency.

Step 3

  • Add the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt. Mix until a soft dough forms. Use a 1 tbsp cookie scoop and roll the cookies in the 1/4 cup of granulated sugar. Bake for 10 to 11 minutes, or until the center has slightly puffed up, and the cookie have spread.

Step 4

  • Once the cookies are out of the oven, let them cool for 3 to 5 minutes. Place a Hershey’s hug kiss into the center of each cookie. Enjoy!
